Swindon Honda; How Honda makes British CRVs and Civics

Hello, and welcome to another addition of ɭexi.ɭaron!

Today, we delve into the topic of mass-production, specifically regarding Honda's British CRV and Civic.

Honda's Swindon Manufacturing Plant was established in Southwest England in 1985. Since '85, Honda has invested the American equivalent of 2.11 billion dollars into the Swindon plant.

Before each car is released, each and every piece of equipment is subject to rigorous testing and inspection. The plant can turn out one car in 80 seconds, and it only takes an hour to produce 60 engine blocks. That's about 3,527 pounds worth of aluminum, for those of you who don't know. Check out this video tour of the plant!

Lexus's F Marque; TRD Releases $70,000 Worth of Upgrades for the IS F

So, there's been a lot of talk about the all new Lexus IS F. Well, for those of you who don't know, the "F" in "IS F" stands for something more than flashy body kits or marketing hype. Lexus's finest performance cars are produced under their F Marque Division, and the new IS F is no exception. How can this get any better? How about a TRD package inspired by the Club Circuit Sports Package IS F, revealed at the Tokyo Auto Salon?

The all-new Club Circuit Sports-Inspired Package for the 5.0L, V8 Lexus IS F includes a lot of cool and extremely expensive stuff.

The list price for the whole TRD Package is about $70,000 USD, so you won't see an IS rolling around with parts like these unless you live in Beverly Hills. Regardless, it's pretty cool. Check it out!

Body kit, including air diffusers and carbon fiber galore

A fixed suspension kit (first picture) or an adjustable suspension kit (second), both including sway bars

A handbuilt LSD

TRD Brake Pads, custom magnesium or aluminum wheels, front and rear stabilizers, axle-back exhaust, and carbon fiber interior trim to top it all off.

Dodge Caliber to go Out of Comission?

The Dodge Neon's replacement car, the Caliber, was meant to captivate customers with it's "bold" and "chunky, SUV-ish" styling, according to Motor Trend. Well, even with it's noisy CVT transmission upgrades, and various interior modifications, the car fell below sale expectations. Looks like Dodge has a new car in the runs, and HINT HINT, it's inspired by a Fiat.

The Great ES300 River Part 2

So, I bet you guys are wondering, hey....where did Dillon's carpet go in his Lexus? It's not a go-kart you're fixing up, right? No, I ain't fixin' a damn go-kart and y'all can stop hatin'. It's time we straighten out this issue!

The leak under the carpet was coming from the condensation drain pipe. It was clogged...that's all.

So, I cleared the clog, and about 2 gallons of water spilled outta the bottom of my car...sweet.

Now, for the carpet...

The seat removal...

Nismo 370Z

Well, I've been looking into new cars for a while. I wanted something fast, something sexy, something that would turn heads, and break necks. But, I've realized that that's going to be quite unrealistic given my age and astronomically high college tuition. O.o

In light of the fantasies and daydreams that I have about cars, here is the Nismo 370Z! The chassis has been tuned so that the weight balance lies mainly in the front for more favorable weight shifting during cornering and breaking. And that's just the beginning...

Here's a list of interesting upgrades I've found:

1.) Upgraded brakes (I'm assuming the same FOUR PISON calipers that lie under the wheel wells of the IPL, or Infiniti Performance Line's G37.

2.) A sport tuned suspension

3.) Limited slip differential

4.) Manual 6-speed shifting mode, and some sort of assisted one that improves shifting speed for those of you who can't shift quickllyyy.

Wow. Check out the article guys!
